I'll start by saying that when possible I love to support local boutiques and there are many that I recommend in my Wardrobe Guide (pdf) that I send to all of my clients after booking. That being said, we all know how convenient Amazon is and with returns being free, I think it is a great option!
I've compiled a list of dresses that I would consider flattering on most body types and great for either a photoshoot at the beach or a wooded location. When looking at these dress options, consider earth tones, pastels, and neutrals in general. Off white, sage, and blush are a few of my personal favorites.
What I like to do is order at least 4 dress options to try on and send what doesn't work back. Once mom's dress is selected, it is easy to coordinate outfits with kids and dad. Selecting mom's outfit first is my number one piece of wardrobe advice for family photoshoots.
