Sunset Family of Five Fall Mini Session | Ponte Vedra, Florida Photographer
Several weeks ago we went home to visit Ohio after not having been back in over a year! A week was just not long enough, but it was definitely memorable for our kids to see their grandparents' houses and experience a long road trip (yes, we are crazy and drove!)
While we were in town, I set aside a night for mini sessions and I am SO glad I did. To be honest I just assumed that all of my old clients had forgotten about me, but they all made me feel so loved and missed. It was definitely good for the soul to see their familiar faces, catch up, and see how much everyone's kids have grown. Some even had new additions, like the Johnstone Family!
When I photographed the Johnstone Family a couple of years ago, I loved their photos so much that I used them in my fall mini advertising for the next couple of years. Needless to say, I wasn't mad that they booked another mini (this time with their new baby boy)... they truly have a beautiful fam!
I swear there was a full moon or something, because everyone's kids were struggling that day. Out of 22 kids, I maybe had 4 who were happy campers. Don't get me wrong, I am totally used to this kind of thing when it comes to being a family photographer, but this was extra haha. Just so happens I took a course this year called, Finding Joy in Chaos, which has really helped propel me forward artistically when it comes to capturing the shared connections in a family even when the kids are having a tough night or just being kids!
I know everyone worries how their kids will act/behave during photos, so I just wanted to share an example of what can be created even when the kids are having a tough night. Sessions like this are what I am all about - capturing your connections as a family - in the season of life you are in. No matter how chaotic it is, it is beautiful! Enjoy my favorites from their fall mini!
