Guana Beach... oh how connected I feel to you. I've spent a lot of time there since moving here. Whether it's taking my family to the beach on the weekend or family photo sessions. It is hands down my favorite beach photoshoot location. Nothing photographs quite like those dunes! You can see why below!
Some of my clients (even those that are from the area) tell me that they have never been to Guana, so I thought I'd share a little more about the location, and what to expect if you have your family photos done there!
Typically I have my clients meet me in the parking lot an hour before sunset (parking is $3, just an FYI). Then we will walk over to the beach together. When possible, I like to walk to the photoshoot location with my clients so it gives the kids a chance to warm up to me. Once we arrive at the beach, I'll photograph the family at the dunes for the first part of the session. The sun sets behind the dunes, so it makes for all of those nice backlit, glowy light dune shots.
Of course everyone wants photos of the water as well, so once the sun has fallen behind the dunes, I take my clients over to the water for a variety of shots showcasing the water backdrop. At the very end of the session, we "hopefully" will get a beautiful cotton candy sky which makes the best ending to the photos. I have to say that every sky is different, so your photos will be unique to that day!
