Finding clothes for family photos is really not easy. I definitely feel my client's pain as I prepare for my own family's photos that take place this month. Raise your hand if you are an overthinker!
Lately when I ask my clients' where their outfits are from, I am continually surprised to hear them say Amazon. They always look great and you can't beat the convenience! So I had to give it a try.
Through a bit of trial and error (I have made a ridiculous amount of returns), I wanted to share a few items I have discovered that are awesome for photos. Most have free returns (depending on the size/style) and come in a bunch of colors, making it easier to coordinate outfits.
Here is the list of items from Amazon that I have personally bought and would recommend for family photos.
1. Short Sleeve Button Down Dress
- I've seen similar dresses on other sites for more than twice as much, so this is a good find for sure. It comes in shades of pink, blue, and green that will photograph really well. I had a client recently wear a similar style in her photos and it looked really good. If you are taller, I think this would look good on you. Definitely body-type dependent, though. On my petite body, it wasn't a hit for me, but I do think it's worth a try for someone else, taking into account the free returns.
2. Flowy Floral Dress
- Flowy dresses are my fav for family photos. This is what I am wearing in my family photos. I am debating between the blue and white version. If you buy this we will be twinsies, but obviously I don't care haha. A medium fit me well for reference, so it's true to size. Free returns.
2. Little Girl Romper
- One of my client's clued me in to this romper (pictured below). When she told me it was only $10 on Amazon, I immediately went and bought one for my daughter, Lucy, lol. Simple, easy. Comes in a bunch of colors. It seems to be true to size.
I hope to make a more comprehensive list of items as time goes on. I'm only posting items I can personally vouch for, hence the list being so short. I might do a second post for guy's items at a later date!
